Bug description
When installing a patched APK over an existing app, the installer can report
INSTALL_FAILED_VERSION_DOWNGRADE, but the user-facing message says the patched APK is damaged and should be patched again. This is misleading: the APK is not necessarily damaged, and retrying the patch will not fix a version downgrade.Steps to reproduce
Expected behavior
Report the actual cause, such as that the installed app has a newer version and must be updated/uninstalled first, rather than calling the patched APK damaged. Keep signature-conflict errors distinct as well.
Actual behavior
The message says:
The patched APK is damaged. Patch again. Android said: INSTALL_FAILED_VERSION_DOWNGRADE.Screenshot/report: https://discord.com/channels/1495093872261599323/1556366364053213315/1562230904997413009
